Our Sixth Form offers an exciting and stimulating phase in the life of our girls, and we fully recognise and accept our responsibility in helping them achieve their very best and fulfill their ambitions for life beyond St Teresa’s.

Distinct but not separate, Sixth Formers play an important role in the life of St Teresa’s, acting as a vital bridge between staff and pupils in the rest of the school; a role which is rightly taken seriously, particularly by those who take up the mantle of Prefect or Head Girl.

This increased responsibility, coupled with increased independence, self-reliance and self-awareness, helps pupils to determine the right career path for themselves as individuals. Ultimately, each girl’s future is in her own hands, but with friendly support from our highly professional teaching, pastoral and careers teams, the options become clearer and obstacles more easily overcome. St Teresa’s offers a good range of subjects for study at A Level, but this is only the starting point; staff guide our girls through their two-year journey which we believe will be as enjoyable as it is rewarding, with careful monitoring to ensure they are on target to attain their chosen career ambitions.

We actively encourage participation in the many clubs, trips and challenges available to our pupils, and which provide an important complement to the formality and rigour of study.

We recognise that girls enter the Sixth Form out of choice, so we ensure that their two years here will not only help facilitate entry to university (or whatever they choose), but will prove to be a joyful, liberating and satisfying culmination to their time at St Teresa’s. Our task is to ensure that girls who choose to stay on or join us for Sixth Form will leave us as ambitious, self-sufficient and mature young women, equipped to face the challenges of higher education, the workplace and adult life.
